Guy Week
July 2004

The Rest of the Story......

After the excitement of the Nantahala rafting trip, other Guy Week events paled by comparison.  But we had a great time sightseeing, reading, eating, and bowling.

"Geo" and "Topo" study the North Carolina Atlas.

After the rafting trip we drove up to Wayah Bald, between Andrews and Franklin, NC.

Randy nicknamed Kelly "Geo" because of his extensive knowledge of geology.  Mike became "Topo" because of his extensive knowledge of topography.  Geo and Topo, two very interesting people.

Randy peers out from the old stone fire tower built on Wayah Bald in the days of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The fire tower sits at an elevation of 5,335 feet and offers breathtaking views of the mountains.

On a clear day you can see four states.  In the distant center of the picture is Franklin, NC.

Wilson Lick Ranger Station

A peaceful scene.  The first Ranger Station in Nantahala Forest, built in 1916.

Bowling Night!!

From above:  Kelly, Mike and Woody show their form!

Unfortunately, the pictures don't do the form justice.  Even more unfortunately, the pictures of Randy didn't develop at all!
